Rameshwar Broota’s artwork titled “Queue”(year 1970-1, Oil on Canvas, 69.7 X 48.4 in) was one of the top three sales of OSIAN’s auction “Creative India Series 2 – The Punjab & Delhi” at 8,760,000 INR (168, 462 USD.) Also sold on a premium was a rare set of etchings completed during a brief period of experimentation with print making.

The recently concluded auction was second in a series of four.  “The four auctions in the Creative India Series focus on historically significant periods in the development of Indian modern and contemporary art and to focus on historically important pioneers and masters,” Neville Tuli told PTI. The auction featured important Pahari School Miniatures (Kangra, Guler and Mandi Schools) along with top artists such as Tyeb Mehta, Satish Gujral, Ramkumar, Manjit Bawa, Biren De, J Swaminathan, Vivan Sundaram, G R Santosh, Shanti Dave, V S Gaitonde, Sohan Qadri, R Kaleka, Anjolie Ela Menon, Aparna Caur, Vasundhra Tewari Broota and Subodh Gupta among others.
