Rameshwar Broota presented with ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’

Rameshwar Broota, was presented with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ during the LalitArpan Festival. The event organized by Asavari, the dance institution of Guru Shovana Narayan, is an annual celebration of Indian arts. Started by the Tabla maestro Ustad Shafaat Ahmed Khan and Narayan, this festival has been promoting Indian classical music and dances since 11 years. In its 12th edition, the organizers have initiated ‘Lalit Samman’ to honour valuable contributions in the field of performing arts as well as fine arts.

Broot Force – Interview in Art Etc. Magazine

Interview published in April 2012 issue of Art Etc. magazine - The darkness, the vileness, pickling and complicating with age, also cast their inevitable shadows on the works of Rameshwar Broota. An interpreter of society, his evolving language used irony and satire, described as sharp and savage, as a vent for his anti-establishment views. Increasingly, he has attempted to unshackle himself from the directness and localization of commentary, settling into a more classical lexis, more powerful for its permanence.

“Roti, Kapda, aur Makaan” – Inaugural Art Show at Ojas Art Gallery

The inaugural show at Ojas Art explores how artists envision three basic desires of “Roti, Kapda aur Makan,” i.e. bread, clothes, and house. The participating artists include: Rameshwar Broota, Arunkumar HG and TV Santhosh, and works on display include photography, sculpture, paintings, video art, installations and graphic art.

Broota’s artwork one of the top 3 sales of OSIAN’s Auction

Rameshwar Broota’s artwork titled “Queue”(year 1970-1, Oil on Canvas, 69.7 X 48.4 in) was one of the top three sales of OSIAN’s auction “Creative India Series 2 – The Punjab & Delhi” at 8,760,000 INR (168, 462 USD.) Also sold on a premium was a rare set of etchings completed during a brief period of experimentation with print making.
